Bio

I’m an American painter vagabonding around the former Soviet Union. I’m now living in Yerevan, Armenia, and previously, had spent a year and a half living in Budapest, Hungary.
I’m mostly self-taught, though I’ve studied drawing with the Gage Academy in Seattle, Washington (formerly the Seattle Fine Art Academy). I have also studied drawing and painting privately in Hungary with Georgian painter Lado Pochkhua (www.ladopockhua.com). In Armenia, I’ve worked with Armenian painter Hakob Hovanissyan.
I am committed to promoting artists and art education. In Budapest, I helped found and co-taught at Sziv Studios, an English-language art school. In Armenia, I’m offering drawing and painting classes at my studio in Yerevan, on Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoons. Please contact me at leah.kohlenberg@gmail.com if you are interested in taking classes. You can also call me at +374-94-65-98-75 in Armenia.
I also work as an art dealer, so those collectors interested in contemporary Armenia, Georgian and Eastern European art should contact me.
